So creating this podcast has been so much work but fun at the same time. And it’s lead me to my newest view into fashion , primarily focused on the new emerging fashion tech companies popping up all over San Francisco now! Today is the first official day, of Fashion Tech Tuesdays at On Style with Jill Siefert available on iTunes and stitcher app.
What better way to kick off the series, as I sat down last week with Founder and CEO, Lona Alia Duncan from Style Lend. I love this platform. With the sharing economy being the zeitgeist, Style Lend is a platform that allows everyone to monetize their own wardrobe! Yes- you read that correctly! Basically in a nutshell, Style Lend is the Air BNB for your wardrobe!
So many people have dresses that they only use for special occasions, but do want to get rid of them yet, they sit in the closet. With Style Lend, you can rent them and earn money! Which eventually brings down the Cost Per Wear and allows you to justify certain purchases. And for those of you that need a dress for a special occasion, Style Lend rents the dresses at a fraction of the cost, at a rate of 10% of the retail value.
There next Style Soiree takes place August 18th and you can lend your dress there or come and check out the goods they have currently!
So tune in and listen to episode 25 on Itunes and Stitcher app- to hear all about how Lona created Style Lend , her time at the YCombinator incubator and the future of this new sharing economy!
Enjoy the episode!!
